GoPro announced the next generation of their compact action personal cameras, and it’s tiny! The company today announced a new $400 action camera called the Hero4 Session, which is 40 percent lighter and half as big.
The GoPro Session shoots 1080p (60fps), 720p (100fps), or 1440p (30fps) and can also capture 8-Megapixel photos in single, burst, or timelapse modes. It’s also waterproof to a depth of 33 feet and doesn’t require separate housing to make it so, unlike previous models. It also features two microphones and the Session will cut between the two mics to reduce the wind noise that you normally experience with GoPro videos.
The device is compatible with existing GoPro mounts and accessories, and comes with a new ball joint buckle mount. It features Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity to connect with a Smart Remote or the GoPro mobile app.
The GoPro Hero4 Session goes on sale on July 12th through retailers and the GoPro website for $399.99.
