Moto Z Amazon UK pre-orders go live

Motorola has announced the Moto Z and has released the device in the US, but there are some diehard UK fans that have yet to get their hands on Motorola’s modular movement smartphone and want to do so. Fortunately, Amazon UK will prove to be a major help in the effort: the Moto Z Amazon UK device is now up for pre-order at the retailer website after opening up for US customers last month.

The Moto Z Amazon UK model will cost £610.19 and comes with free delivery. As for the device itself, buyers are looking at a 5.5-inch, Quad HD display with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC, 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB of storage, a 5MP front camera, 16MP back camera, and a 2,600mAh battery. Fortunately, you can buy a MotoMod like the JBL speaker that’ll provide an additional battery (though there’s no word on whether or not the Moto Z Amazon UK model will have such a nice financial incentive with pre-orders or official orders once the device goes on sale).

The Moto Z Amazon UK model, as well as the American model, has taken too long to get to market. Motorola normally releases a Moto X model this month (August), but it appears as though it’s taking so long for the Moto Z to get to market (a phone that was announced June 9th — 2 months ago). No phone should take 2 months to arrive on the market after it’s announced. Motorola has simply waited too long to get the Moto Z out there — and by the time it does, the Galaxy Note 7 will already be out and about, tempting consumers and making them forget all about Motorola’s effort with the Z. Considering that the Galaxy Note 7 has started shipping for Verizon USA customers already, and that the Note 7 is shipping around the world prior to the worldwide release on August 19th, Motorola hasn’t thought this through in regards to its most fierce Android OEM.

The device itself seems to pack standard hardware specs with little in the way of additional software to enhance the experience; if you’re looking for a fun time with the Moto Z Amazon UK unit, you’ll need to purchase some MotoMods or pick up a free deal on a few. We’ll be back to bring you any free MotoMods deals for UK customers (American customers can get free MotoMods through Best Buy) if any surface.

You can take a look at the Moto Z and MotoMods announcement to get an idea of what to expect when your Moto Z Amazon UK unit lands.
