How to view the browsing history in Safari on your iPhone or iPad

In general, Safari is easy to use and it offers a wide range of practical features. The majority of browsing controls are straightforward and can be managed without hassle. However, there are some features that are not openly available and that can make your browsing even easier. One of them is the possibility of seeing your browsing history. here you will find out how to access this information.

When we browse the internet, it is likely that we visit several websites. In some cases, we need to go back to a specific website that we previously visited. By tapping the Back button, it is possible to go to the last website visited and while this usually works when it comes to websites that have been viewed recently, things can be more complicated when you need to go to a website that was visited a while ago. However, there is a simple way to see the browsing history, which will enable you to find a specific website that you visited a while ago.

Just open Safari, tap and keep the Back button held down. On the iPhone, the Back button looks like an arrow pointing to the left and you can find it at the bottom left of the screen. If you have an iPad, you will see the Back button at the top left side of the screen. If you keep the Back button held down, you will see a list of all the websites that have been previously visited. You just need to select the website that you want to access and it will be loaded in Safari. If there are multiple tabs open in Safari, the browsing history is saved independently for each tab. The browsing history for each tab is not removed when you quit Safari, but when a tab is closed, the browsing history for that particular tab is deleted.

How to view the browsing history on other devices

It is possible to view the browsing history on multiple devices. For instance, if you have an iPhone and an iPad, you have the possibility of seeing the browsing history on one device, while using the other one. This is a practical solution if you have visited a website on your iPhone, but now you are using your iPad and need to check the website again. You just need to tap the Bookmark icon (it looks like an open book) that is located in the same list of icons as the Back button. Simply go to the main Bookmarks menu and select History from the list.

You will be able to see the web history from all your Apple devices organized by day when the website was viewed. The browsing history is synced across all your devices so you will always be able to locate the website you want. Keep in mind that the Safari option must be enabled in the iCloud settings so that the Safari tabs and web history are shared between all your iOS devices. It is also necessary to use the same Apple ID in the iCloud settings to make sure that the Safari data is synced.
