Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre orders exceeds 4 million mark in 24 hours

Apple’s latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were opened for pre-order on September 12 and now Apple claims that it received more than 4 million pre-orders for both devices in first 24 hours. According to the company, majority of the pre-orders are for the iPhone 6 Plus which is the company’s biggest iPhone in terms of display.

Before the launch, a report stated that Apple had ordered its manufacturers to produce about 30 million iPhone 6 units and it looks like Apple will need more than that and in a very short period of time. While majority of the people who pre-ordered iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus will receive their phone in September but it is expected that a large number of orders will be delayed till October due to limited supply.

This is now a new record for Apple and iPhone for the number of pre-orders on first day. Last year, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C pre-orders were estimated to be around 2.2 million with 2 million iPhone 5S in it. Besides that, Apple will start selling the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in its retail stores from September 19. The countries where the iPhone will be selling first include U.S., Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the UK.

If someone wasn’t able to pre-order the device and want to get their hands on the latest iPhone can turn towards eBay where some people who got lucky in pre-ordering the new iPhone are selling it for $500 to $1100 above the normal price. It’s stupid actually but if someone is really itching to get their hands on the iPhone 6, this may be the next best solution for them.
