Apple iPad Air 2 launched
Apple just announced a refresh version of their Apple iPad Air known as Apple iPad Air 2. Apple iPad Air 2 comes with a lot of improvements over its predecessor which includes a Touch ID finger print sensor and a thinner body at 6.1mm which makes it’s the world thinnest tablet. Apple also included a new color as well and now iPad Air 2 will be available in silver, space grey and golden color.
Apple iPad Air 2 has the same display at 9.7 inches but due to the LCD, glass and the touch sensor being optical bonded the display should look even nicer than before, Apple has also coated the display with anti-glare coating which according to Apple should reduce 56 percent of reflection in day light. iPad Air 2 uses a modified version of Apple A8 chip known as A8X a 64 bit processor which according to Apple is a bit powerful than the A8 chip and offers up to 40 percent performance increase than the Apple A7 chip used on the previous Apple iPad Air with 2.5x percent increase in the performance of GPU.
The camera has also been upgraded and is now equipped with an 8MP iSight camera with 1.12 micron pixels, and an f/2.4 aperture lens which can shoot 1080P videos and records slow motion videos at 120 frames per second. The sensor in the front camera has also been improved and now comes with a larger aperture of f2.2. According to Apple the battery life on the new iPad Air 2 should last up to 10 hours of usage.
Aside from the thin design of the new Apple iPad Air 2 the other big different that is noticeable is the addition of the new Touch ID sensor which was missing from the slim tablet. iPad Air 2 looks impressive, how do you like it?
