Apple sends invitations for a September 9th event
Today is the day when all rumors turned out to be true which stated that Apple is planning an event on September 9th. Apple just sent invitations to the press people for an event that is scheduled for 9th September. According to other rumors, that are still in line and proven to be true, Apple will be making big announcements at the event by announcing its two new iPhone 6 models and a possible Apple smartwatch announcement too.
The long awaited iPhone 6, which is expected to come in two variants of 4.7 inch and 5.5 inch display screens are both expected to be announced at the event. But, few reports suggested earlier that in order to reduce the burden and overall workload at the event in order to handle any unusual situation (the real time issues that the Apple team faces at the event), Apple might announce only one iPhone 6 model.
Another speculation that a lot of people are expecting to be true is that Apple would be using sapphire displays for any one version of the iPhone 6. Sapphire display provides much needed durability and resistance against scratches and shattering to the display of the phone.
Another interesting thing to note about the event is that this year’s event is taking place at a totally different place than the usual Apple’s Cupertino campus or the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in SF. It is said that Apple is expecting a bigger crowd and since both of the above venues provide very little space, Apple has chosen the Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino.
And finally, just like before, Apple is likely to announce its next version of iOS – the iOS 8 at the event. Previous iPhone owners will get the latest iOS 8 version before the iPhone 6 starts shipping as usual.
