Apple sends out iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus invitations
It’s that time of year again, when the next iPhones are scheduled to make their debut.
In usual fashion, Apple sent out invitations to its iPhone event, with the words, “ ‘Hey, Siri, give us a hint.’ Please join us for an invitation-only event at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco on Wednesday, September 9th, at 10:00 a.m.” The time zone, of course, is PDT, so those on EST (Eastern Standard Time) can expect to watch the announcement 3 hours ahead, at 1PM EST.
Here’s where we finally discover the date of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus announcement, which fits with a French carrier iPhone 6s/6s Plus pre-order document leak we’ve seen already that’s set for September 11th with shipments set for September 18th. The invite, with the words “hey Siri, give us a hint,” points to predictive Siri that is said to interpret your actions with your handset so as to know when you’re preparing to listen to your music, when you’re waking up for the day, and what app you’d want to first use in the morning. Apple has said that it looks to make great optimizations in its software for iOS 9, so much so that iOS 8-eligible devices like the third-generation iPad (the first to come with Retina Display), as well as the iPhone 4S, qualify for iOS 9 this Fall.
We’ve also learned that September 9th will see the announcement of three new iPhones: the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and the iPhone 6c, the most inexpensive new iPhone that’s said to feature a 4-inch screen instead of the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screens that have now become standard in Apple’s iDevice phone lineup. As for the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, interested users and fans can expect a new 12MP camera, 4K video recording, Force Touch for both flagship iPhones, and even an improved front camera (which has remained a 1.2MP for a long time).
Stay tuned to Aptgadget, as we put you up-close and personal with all the leaks and details that are unveiled before the main event.
