It been a while we have heard any rumors about LG G Flex 2. Recently we saw a teaser image posted by Qualcomm on their twitter account showing the backside of a smartphone with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor inside by a following message saying that “A new Snapdragon 800 powered smartphone is launching next week at CES – here’s a first look.”
We expect that the teased picture is of LG G Flex 2 that might get announced at CES though you might be wondering why Qualcomm said that a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor will be used as it’s an old SOC, well by 800 the companies is referring to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series, so if it was LG G Flex 2 then the smartphone might be equipped with either Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 or 810.
Now the reason we think it’s an LG smartphone because it’s got volume keys on its backside which we have only seen on LG’s G series smartphones, but Asus Zenfone also recently launched a smartphone with back mounted controls but those smartphones were equipped with Intel SOC’s and we believe the company will keep their relationship with Intel strong.
If it was LG G Flex 2 then we would like to see the smartphone equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 SOC as it would make the smartphone even more appealing other than its unique curved display. The resolution on the smartphone might be 1920 x 1080 as the older LG G Flex supported a resolution of 720 only.
CES is just around the corner and it won’t be long before we can really see which smartphone Qualcomm was referring to in their teased picture. As soon as something comes up we will let you guys know.
