Sony provides its Android Marshmallow update list for Xperia devices
Sony has released its Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium, but the company finds itself in the same boat as all other Android OEMs: customers want to know when they can expect the latest and greatest. Some Sony customers will find themselves happy over the latest news: a number of devices will jump from Android 5.0 Lollipop, their current update, and skip 5.1 Lollipop in favor of Android Marshmallow (6.0).
Sony made the announcement via its own update blog: As you’ve probably seen Google unveil Android version 6.0 Marshmallow, we’ve seen lots of questions on our upgrade roadmap and plans – so, here goes…
We will make Android 6.0, Marshmallow available for: Xperia Z5, Xperia Z5 Compact, Xperia Z5 Premium, Xperia Z4 Tablet, Xperia Z3+, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia M5, Xperia C5 Ultra, Xperia M4 Aqua, and Xperia C4,
the blog said earlier this month.
Sony has yet to roll out the new Android Marshmallow update, but you can be sure that, if the company does release it, we’ll be here to cover it.
