Sony unveils its flagship smartphone Xperia Z4
Sony today announced its next flagship smartphone the Sony Xperia Z4. The announcement was made on company’s Japan website, in Japanese, which means that the latest Sony flagship device will come first in Japanese market. The announcement also mentions the release date of the Xperia Z4 to be somewhere between summer.
So far, the announcement only mentioned the Sony Xperia Z4 so there won’t be a compact version of the device coming. Talking about the specs of Xperia Z4, they are much like the previous Xperia Z3 flagship smartphone. Xperia Z4 features the same 5.2 inch screen with 1080p resolution, 3GB RAM, 5MP camera at front and 20.7MP at the back as the Xperia Z3 but has a better 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 processing clocked at 2GHz, thinner form factor at 6.9mm and Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box.
Xperia Z4 also comes with IP6X dust-proof certification as well as IPX5 and IPX8. In simple words, Xperia Z4 is splash resistant and can also withstand for an infinite amount of time when submerged in water. The device also comes with a waterproof USB port which means that sealed caps are not needed anymore for the device to become waterproof.
The device packs a 2,930mAh battery unit and comes with 32GB internal storage with an external microSD card slot which will support expansion up to 128GB. Xperia Z4 will be available in the traditional white and black colors as well as copper and aqua green. Sony hasn’t announce the price details of Xperia Z4 nor the exact international launch date but according to a Sony Mobile rep. the company will be giving out more details about the device soon.
