Sprint, Galaxy S7 ve S7 edge için Galaxy Forever Programını başlatıyor

Sprint has already launched an iPhone Forever program that allows Apple customers to lease an iPhone by paying 12 monthly payments, then turn it in to lease (or rent, rather) the next-generation iPhone — only to do it all over again when the 12-month rent period has expired. Now, in honor of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, Sprint is doing it again: those who want to lease a Galaxy S7 or its edge sibling can do so with the new Galaxy Forever program.

The Galaxy Forever Program provides the usual installment billing option that lets you pay 24 months for your device (after which, you own it!), but you now get a leasing option, too, with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. You no longer have to own your device if you want to get the latest and greatest device(s) each year, but by paying rent, you’ll have nothing to show for it when the 12 months is up (except a new Galaxy S8, perhaps, that won’t be yours after another 12 months). You can possibly own these devices at any time, should you choose, but we know that many users won’t want to keep their old devices after the newer ones arrive.

The Galaxy Forever Program is, in many ways, Sprint’s counterpart to Samsung’s own Galaxy Upgrade program that lets users pay on the current Galaxy and trade it in for the new one when the time comes. We were expecting to hear details on the Galaxy Upgrade Program from the Korean giant at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016), but sadly, there was no update on when users can expect it, nor what users can expect from the program upon enrollment.

The Sprint Galaxy Upgrade Program starting with the Galaxy S7 will require that you pay $25.99 per month and either 1) upgrade after 12 payments or 2) own the device after 24 months. To get the Galaxy S7 edge, you’ll need to pony up $30.50 per month for 12 months to lease it (or 24 months to own it). The price of leasing or owning the device is in addition to the price of your service (monthly). If your data plan is $60 each month, and you pick up a Galaxy S7 edge at Sprint, expect to pay $91+ a month for your device and service. If you already have multiple devices on your Sprint plan, then the extra $30.50 may be a little harder to hand over.
