Acer launched Iconia Tab 10 and Iconia One 8 Android tablets

Acer today introduced two new Android powered tablets named Acer Iconia Tab 10 and Acer Iconia One 8. The first one has a 10 inch screen while the latter one has an 8 inch display. Acer now joins Samsung and Sony in the list of companies who will be announcing Android based tablets at the IFA event that starts from today (September 4th).

Prior to the announcement of these two new tablets, Acer was never into the tablets market. Even though it tried to take some share of the Android tablets market but due to the fierce competition from other manufacturers including ASUS and Samsung, Acer never made it to the top.

But the latest two tablets look promising. The first device, Iconia Tab 10, has a 10.1 inch FHD IPS LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass. This is more than enough to make sure that the device will feature one hell of a display. Though there were not enough information given out by Acer about the device but it is said that it supports Dolby Digital 5.1 channel audio headphones, has a quad core MediaTek processor and is running Android 4.4 KitKat.

The second device features an 8 inch screen with 720p resolution. The main sale factor for this device is not its awesome specs or a great display just like the former device; instead the device will be available in multiple colors that would help attract more users who want a specific color tablet.

Acer Iconia Ta b 10 will start shipping in the US this month with a price tag of $199 whereas Acer Iconia One 8 will only be launching in Europe, Middle East and Africa. More information about the devices is expected to be revealed at IFA.
