T-Mobile und Verizon HTC One M8 Android Marshmallow Update veröffentlicht
Did you pick up the HTC One M8 two years ago? The smartphone was heavily criticized from the outset because it was quite identical to the HTC One M7 (its predecessor), not to mention HTC decided to place a 4MP back camera on the device (instead of placing the 5MP front camera on the back and the 4MP camera on the front). The Taiwanese manufacturer realized the error of its ways and decided to attempt to make up for lost time in the HTC One M9. Unfortunately, by the time the One M9 was released, it had the same design as the One M7 and One M8 — and its 20MP back camera didn’t fare much better than the 4MP back camera from the previous year.
And yet, HTC hasn’t forgotten about the HTC One M8, so much so that this week, HTC Product Management VP Mo Versi announced the rollout of the Android Marshmallow update for both the T-Mobile HTC One M8 and Verizon HTC One M8 models.
Android Marshmallow was rolled out by Google to existing Nexus devices (excepting the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X) on October 5, 2015, so it’s been 5 months since the rollout — but this is often what happens with other Android OEMs and, in particular, carrier-locked devices. Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings a number of features such as Google Now On Tap, where users can tap on a word to find out more about that feature. Marshmallow also brings Doze Mode, which is said to improve battery life when your device (and apps) are idle. Keep in mind that Android Marshmallow will not bring you increased battery life, however, but will do a sufficient job of maintaining the battery life you already have.
