Xiaomi Announced The Redmi 2
It is expected the Chinese smartphone manufacturer named Xiaomi has introduced a successor to their Xiaomi Redmi 1s, whereas the new smartphone brings some slight improvements to the budget priced smartphone.
The smartphone is equipped with the same display found on its predecessor and comes equipped with a 4.7 inch display that supports a resolution of 720 x 1280, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SOC which is a 64-bit processor clocked at 1.2 GHz an upgrade from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 used in its predecessor. The RAM also remains the same and comes with 1GB of RAM with 8GB of onboard storage with microSD card expansion slot. The smartphone also comes with the same 8MP camera on the back while the front camera is upgraded to 2MP and to power it all a 2200mAh battery.
The smartphone will be running its own UI known as MIUI and will come with Android kitkat 4.4.4 out of the box. The smartphone will also be officially launched on 9th of January and will cost around $112, though there is no news on if Xiaomi has plans to launch their smartphone outside of China.
Xiaomi offers the best smartphones under its price and smartphones like the Xiaomi Redmi and Redmi Note were a big hit in markets like India where affordable smartphones play a big role mainly because of the competitive pricing on these smartphones. As the specs that these smartphones offer under the price tag are way better than other smartphones.
Xiaomi is also planning to launch a successor to their Xiaomi Redmi Note smartphone known as Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 though there is no news about when the smartphone will be launched. Xiaomi would also be launching their flagship device on 15th of January which is what everyone is waiting for.
