Xiaomi könnte einen neuen Fingerabdruckscanner für sein kommendes Mi 5 Smartphone patentieren
Xiaomi, the third largest smartphone maker in the world has introduced a wide portfolio of smartphones in 2015. Ranging from its Snapdragon 801 Mi Note, to its powerful Snapdragon 810 running Mi Note Pro, the company is now being rumored to release the successor of Mi 4, which will most likely be named Mi 5. Mi 5 is expected to feature a futuristic fingerprint scanner, according to the information posted by reliable source.
The source has stated that the patent news comes directly from the State Intellectual Property Office website of China. According to the details, Xiaomi has registered for a patent concerning the touch buttons. If the patent is approved, the company will possibly be using it to incorporate the feature in its high-end smartphones.
The patent application (No. 2015100507538) has stated that the primary purpose of the patented technology is to assimilate fingerprint recognition into the touch button. In layman terms, what that means is that instead of a rear sensor that a myriad number of Chinese smartphone sport, Xiaomi could be looking for a user friendly home button based fingerprint recognition sensor. Additionally, the patent details also suggest that there is a layer of glass present on the top of the button, which the company has most likely integrated for improving the overall aesthetics of the upcoming handset.
As for the hardware specifications of Xiaomi’s Mi 5, it is expected that the smartphone will feature a 5.2 inch screen size that will be resonating the 1440p resolution. The device will sport a 3,000 mAh battery, along with a powerful Snapdragon 810 SoC, Adreno 430 GPU and 4 GB of RAM. So far, there is no word from Xiaomi concerning the release date of Mi 5. However, with Snapdragon 820’s release date just around the corner, consumers should expect the official release date sooner rather than later.
