As we all known by now Android One was a project started by Google whose aim is to provide users with affordable smartphones running stock Android but this project till now was only limited to India as the project was designed for the Indian market where there is a lot of potential for affordable smartphones. Android One overall is a great package that offers a very affordable smartphone that runs latest Google stock Android.
An Android One smartphone has been launched in UK as well that goes by the name Karbonn Sparkle V and is one of the first Android One smartphone to be sold in UK. The smartphone as of now is only available on UK’s Amazon website and comes with some decent specs that includes a 4.5 inch display that supports a resolution of 480 x 854, MediaTek quad core processor that is clocked at 1.3GHz, 1GB of RAM and a 1700mAh battery.
The price on this Karbonn smartphone however is twice as much what Indian market is offering and costs $205 instead of the $100 price point offered in the Indian market. Because of the price tag this Android One smartphone is not a budget friendly smartphone as there are already smartphones available in the market that are made by well recognized companies like Motorola with their Motorola G and Motorola E.
We don’t know why the smartphone is priced that high as it does not offer specs worth the price but maybe companies over in UK does not offer cheap labor compared to Indian companies and because of that the price might have risen up. Whatever the reason maybe if Karbonn wants people to buy their Android One smartphone then they have to lower the price.
Any of you interested in getting an Android One smartphone if yes, then why?
