Harvest Moon has been and is considered as one of the best farming games on Super Nintendo. It has received numerous positive reviews from gamers all over the world. However, just like any other games, if you play it for quite a while, it would get a bit boring in the long run and we understand this. Hence, we researched for other games that are similar to Harvest Moon which are worth trying.

1. Stardew Valley

The only game that comes close to Harvest Moon is Stardew Valley. Their gameplay and graphics are similar but the difference is Stardew has taken the game to the next level by expanding it. The game comes with larger “world” than Harvest Moon. Through Stardew, you will be able to enjoy farming by growing crops, raise poultry and many more.

2. Voodoo Garden

Not your ordinary farming game, the Voodoo Garden lets you plant herbs, shrubs, fruits and veggies rather than the usual fruits and vegetables only. The plants that you will grow in this game could be used for producing occult accessories. Aside from that, you will also be able to catch swamp animals which you could add to your ingredients for your voodoo magic. In this game, you will also be given an option to raise pets which could keep you company and if needed be sacrifice for you to gain more magic.

3. Plantera

You will definitely be hooked on this farming game with its cute graphics. In this game you will be able to garden and farm trees, fruits and even raise animals all at the same time. Your goal in this game is expand your garden and attract cute helpers that will aid you in planting and harvesting your plants. While taking care of your farm or garden, you will need to invest in crops so that you will have better, beautiful and bountiful farm.

4. Wayward

This game is more than a farming game. It in fact could be considered as a hybrid or mixed games. It has a blend of Ultima Online, Minecraft, Don’t Starve and Harvest Moon. This game is a survival game wherein you will need to craft items and collect resources. This game does not have any rules, levels or class.

My Time at Portia offers a rich community which gives you the opportunity to befriend all the residents. The game also allows you to level up your character by honing and developing your skills in combat, social skills and crafting.

7. Moonlighter

Moonlighter is another great alternative option for Harvest Moon. In this game, you will play the role of Will. Will is a very adventurous shopkeeper who attends to his duties in the shop during the day and at night he transforms into a hero. The dual role that you have to play will give you a challenge of juggling your responsibilities efficiently.

In Moonlighter, you will be able to sell goods and collect items which you will have to keep in the dungeon shop.

8. Animal Crossing: New Leaf /

Not your ordinary farming simulation game, Animal Crossing: New Leaf allows its players to live their charter’s life as they want to. You will play as a start as a mayor of a small town and your goal is for you to make the town profitable, beautiful and attract tourists. Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor is quite the opposite of Harvest Moon in terms of it having a fun theme. It is in fact classified as an anti-adventure title. Hay Day game comes with a lot of similarities with the FarmVille game. In this game, you will have to help your old uncle in taking care of his farm. You will need to make his farm the best and to do this, you will have to harvest, build docks for fishing and trade goods. Once you have harvested your goods, your goal is to be able to sell your products through the use of boats, trucks and even shops. Hay Day also allows its players to invite others to visit your farm.

14. World’s Dawn

In World’s Dawn, you will be able to live in a peaceful village beside the sea. In this game, you will be able to grow your own food and work as you please. You could work part-time or full-time depending on your choice. As a full-time, you will have to monitor and tend to your crops and raise poultry or animals. You will also get to interact with your neighbors as well in this game.

15. Don’t Starve Together

Don’t Starve Together offers a theme of survival and farming. In this game, you will have to do everything you need to do in order to survive. You will have to explore places in order for you to be able to collect resources, develop structures and gather craft items.
